WomanSafeHealth HerStory is a feminist publishing company, founded in 2008 by Elizabeth Shadigian, MD, who is a physician specializing in health care empowerment and woman advocacy for women, girls, trans and gender nonconforming people.
WomanSafeHealth HerStory publishes materials for the general public with an emphasis on women, girls, trans and gender nonconforming individuals, as well as health care providers. WomanSafeHealth HerStory works in tandem with WomanSafeHealth, Dr. Shadigian’s private medical practice located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, to provide the international community with adequate resources that encourage medical empowerment, women’s health and woman advocacy.
We are pleased to announce the publication of our first book, WomanSafeHealth: The Antidote to Status Quo Health Care, which is available as of July 17, 2016 as a full color paperback and hardcover book. Ebook versions will be available in 2017.
Elizabeth's Bio
Elizabeth Shadigian, MD, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in the health, safety and well-being of women. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and studied, taught and practiced at major health care institutions for 20 years. Elizabeth left academia as a Clinical Associate Professor to create WomanSafeHealth, a medical practice based on women’s empowerment.
